Perfect Pancake Investigation lets pupils experiment with pancake ingredients to create the perfect pancake recipe. Combine milk, eggs and flour and work out the correct ratio of ingredients. Can your pupils make 5 perfect pancakes? Then how about 10? Or 15?

The activity joins TES iboard’s other Pancake Day activities and resources, including a pancake-making sequencer and some measure and capacity games.

Ideal for resourcing a mini, day-long topic on ‘pancakes’, this pack contains a mixture of literacy and numeracy opportunities.

The pack is led with an instruction writing activity and this is accompanied by a sequencing activity and supporting document. Further resources offer an investigation into the perfect mix, along with recording sheets for best recipes. Finally, several resources are for extension work on measure and proportion.

For four days, between the 30th January and 2nd February, the Langeroo team descended on the BETT Show at its new home at the ExCeL centre in London.

The BETT show is very important to us. It’s where we launched Langeroo two years ago (after a sleepless night) and it’s a great chance for us to meet teachers and catch up with our partners.

This year was great for us. Teachers enjoyed getting hands-on with our online subscription for schools and they had a chance to get some time with our new apps. We also offered an extended trial for new users, and extended our special £50 off offer for a little longer.

BETT is also a great chance for us to meet new partners and to look at trends in education in general, and we’re excited to be working on bringing our apps to more platforms this year as well as extending our Langeroo online suite to home users in the near future.

It was also nice to have the Langeroo team in one place for a few days for a good catch up and to take some time after the pre-BETT development madness to discuss what we’ll be working on in the year ahead. We stayed out next to the new Westfield Stratford City with views over the Olympic Village (and some very good coffee to get us going each morning). We also got to relax a little at the BETT show with some feet-on time on some dance mats (Owain will practice harder in time for next year) and we met some rather cool dancing robots too.

The show runs from January 30th to February 2nd and, for the first time, takes place at London’s ExCel.

Langeroo is exhibiting on stand A6, located in ExCel Modules N1-N17.

Boogie Mites has been around for several years, offering workshops and resources to pre-schools throughout the UK and is now making its resources available to the home market exclusively on Windows 8.

You can use the app in two ways, either as a Flashcards viewer (with images and sounds) or as a Flashcards game where your child has to match the written word and sound to the image.

This pack features over 160 words, each illustrated with gorgeous and inspiring graphics and narrated by a TES advisor and primary school teacher.

Our apps are based on our educational subscription service, which takes its structure from the English National Curriculum and is in use in schools, internationally, as a way of teaching English as an additional language, and to nursery and primary learners for teaching English as a first language.

Boogie Mites Animal Songs is a collection of songs with supporting videos and activities, designed for parents to use with their children. The app comes with three free songs complete with lyrics, videos and activities, with six further songs available within the app.

Each song includes the original Boogie Mites composition, videos and lyrics and many include activities with supporting videos and templates.

Boogie Mites songs have been created to captivate and stimulate pre-school children. The included videos suggest explorative play, movement and interactions to help get the children (and parents) involved with the song and to promote creativity.

The songs in the Animal Songs app include Little Ducky, Let’s Tap a Word, Jungles of Brazil, Dythinkhesaurus and I was in the Garden.
